Job details

Company: Solar United Neighbors
Job Title: Pennsylvania Program Associate
Job Category: NON PROFIT
Job description:
Our energy system is on the brink of a major transformation, and we’re looking for someone to help us ensure this new system puts rooftop solar energy at the cornerstone!

About Us
Solar United Neighbors (SUN) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit that started more than 15 years ago with a simple question: "Mom, can we go solar?" Since then, we've helped tens of thousands of people benefit from solar energy. We are dedicated to creating a clean, equitable, resilient energy system that benefits everyone — by helping people go solar, join together, and fight for their energy rights.

About the Position
The Pennsylvania Program Associate will work closely with the Pennsylvania Program Director and the regional support team to carry out SUN’s goals in the state of Pennsylvania. This position reports to the Pennsylvania Program Director.

Job responsibilities include:
● Plan and implement solar co-ops in Western Pennsylvania, particularly in Allegheny County. This includes cultivating partner relationships, engaging with the media, conducting public Solar 101’s, holding in-person and virtual events, facilitating the installer selection process, and managing installer relationships with co-op members and SUN.
● Manage relationships with members of our Allegheny low-to-moderate income (LMI) projects. This will involve frequent communication with these homeowners in order to guide them through the co-op process and evaluation of the success of the program for the participants.
● Organize and engage with a diverse range of Pennsylvania solar supporters in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
● Represent the Pennsylvania Program in coalitions and at in-person and digital events.
● Conduct policy, regulatory, and market research to support the Pennsylvania program’s goals.
● Engage with legislators, local governments, and partner organizations to advance the state program’s policy and programmatic goals.
● Provide technical assistance to individuals and entities interested in going solar.
● Create resources to help SUN’s Pennsylvania supporters become more effective and informed advocates for solar.
● Other duties as assigned.

Benefits
● Salary range of $45,000-$55,000 per year
● Fun, remote work environment
● Flexible work hours
● Generous paid leave
● Health, vision, and dental insurance
● $1,000/year professional development stipend
● $50/month phone and internet stipend
● 401(k) retirement account with match after 1 year
● Meaningful, impactful work
