Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty Float Pool position, requiring Med-Surg and Step-down experience and every other weekend coverage.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Float Pool of a hospital environment
- Care for a diverse range of patients from Med-Surg and Step-down units
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage required
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Administer medications, monitor IV infusions and blood products, and document patient responses to nursing interventions
- Support patients and families with care plan communication at admission and discharge
- May assist physicians with exams and minor procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Expected to adapt to multiple units within the hospital as part of the float pool
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of Med-Surg or Step-down RN experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Computer skills are necessary
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
