Superintendent

Messer Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects. As the on-site leader, you will manage daily construction activities, oversee subcontractors and crews, enforce safety standards, and maintain high-quality workmanship. You will plan and track schedules, coordinate materials and inspections, and resolve field issues in real time. Partnering closely with project managers, you'll help control cost, mitigate risk, and keep projects on schedule while mentoring team members and reinforcing Messer's culture of safety, integrity, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, field crews, and material deliveries
• Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines
• Enforce OSHA and Messer safety standards, conducting inspections and toolbox talks
• Review drawings, specifications, and RFIs to resolve field issues promptly
• Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, and authorities having jurisdiction
• Monitor workmanship and conduct quality checks to meet project requirements
• Support cost control efforts by managing manpower, equipment, and material use
• Document progress, incidents, and changes; communicate status to project managers
• Coach and mentor field staff, reinforcing Messer's culture and best practices
