Job Title: Program Specialist, Career Exploration

Job description:  
This position is currently 100% remote. After COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the Program Specialist role will primarily be remote with in-office visits as required. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts ("GSEMA") offices are located in Andover, Middleboro, and Waltham, MA May also involve work activities on properties, designated sites/events, and community locations as needed.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Program Specialist – Career Exploration. This is a new hybrid-based role that reports to the Director of Girl Program.

The Program Specialist will contribute to the membership engagement and retention of girls by providing high-impact career exploration programs for girls in grades K to 12. The Program Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of age-level appropriate and inclusive curriculum that aligns with The Girl Leadership Experience and encourages girls to explore interests in non-traditional female careers such as STEM, construction, automotive, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop career exploration program curriculum that is age/Girl Scout level appropriate and inclusive.
Project manage a portfolio of career exploration programs that adhere to project guidelines/budget.
- Manage engagement and collaborations with program partnerships.
- Recruit a diverse group of career experts to support program delivery and girl mentorship.
- Support marketing and promotional efforts of programs.
- Work with membership teams to promote programs to diverse populations.
- Ensure programs and activities follow risk management and safety guidelines.
- Create a program environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive.

- Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages, and accept the Girl Scout commitment to work with all without regard to age, race, ethnicity/culture, country of origin, religion, language, socio-economic status, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, ability or political affiliation.
- Possess a collaborative approach and outlook; demonstrated ability to establish trust and professional relationships with staff across all levels of the organization; ability to work with divergent opinions; promote collaboration and exchange of ideas.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Two (2) or more years of experience developing curriculum and delivery of youth programming.
- Proficient in utilizing data and metrics to inform decisions or demonstrated ability to learn.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and program registration or demonstrated ability to learn.
- Bilingual skill is desirable.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel throughout the council footprint.
- Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage financial resources effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and manage groups of children and adults of all ages.

- Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.

Work Environment: This is a remote position with work primarily from home and a requirement of one day every other week of in-office time at a designated GSEMA office. May also involve work activities on properties, designated sites/events and community locations as needed.

Physical requirements may include:

- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 15 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May involve prolonged periods of sitting or working on a computer.
- May involve prolonged periods of time standing during program delivery.

Travel Requirements: Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to GSEMA offices/service centers and across the Council footprint as needed. As this position requires approximately 30% travel within the Council footprint and may require occasional travel outside the Council footprint, possession of a valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle is preferred.
