HCA Healthcare Pathology Services, in partnership with the East Florida Division, is seeking an experienced Pathology Medical Director to lead pathology services at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. Position Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • General surgical pathology sign out

  • Frozen sections

  • Clinical interpretations

  • Oversight of labs within free standing emergency departments

Leadership Duties

  • Provide medical direction for pathology services

  • Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical teams

  • Support quality initiatives and operational efficiency

  • Foster teamwork and maintain strong communication across departments

Qualifications
  • AP/CP Board Certification

  • 2+ years of hospital based Medical Director experience preferred

  • Recent experience with frozen sections and general surgical pathology

  • Sub specialty training preferred

  • Florida license or FCVS in progress

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Commitment to digital pathology advancement

Practice Snapshot
  • Two pathologist practice

  • Approximately 5,000 cases/year (surgicals, cytologies, bone marrows)

  • No gyn cytology or autopsy responsibilities
