Manager, Platform Engineering

Cargill seeks a Manager, Platform Engineering to lead a team building secure, scalable cloud and on prem platforms that power global food and agriculture solutions. You will define platform vision and roadmaps, standardize CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure automation, and partner with product and security leaders to enable high velocity, reliable delivery. This role combines hands on technical leadership with people management, fostering an inclusive, learning focused culture. You'll drive innovation in platform reliability, cost optimization, and sustainability while mentoring engineers and championing engineering best practices across IT and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the platform engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap for Cargill's IT landscape.
• Lead and mentor platform engineers, fostering a culture of learning, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud and on prem platforms supporting global products.
• Standardize CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure automation to enable high velocity, reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to align platform capabilities with business needs and compliance.
• Drive SRE practices, including reliability, performance, incident management, and post incident reviews.
• Optimize platform cost, performance, and sustainability while ensuring resilience and scalability.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and governance across platform services.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance Cargill's platform ecosystem.
• Report on platform health, reliability, and adoption, providing clear metrics and communication to leadership.
