HVAC Technician

Mohawk Valley Health System is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, repair, and optimize heating, cooling, and ventilation systems across our healthcare facilities in Utica, NY. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and resolve mechanical and control issues, and help ensure critical environments meet regulatory and infection-control standards. You'll collaborate closely with facilities, nursing, and clinical teams to support patient comfort and safety while contributing to energy efficiency and system reliability in a mission-driven, community-focused organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and optimize HVAC systems across hospitals and clinics
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, AHUs, and controls
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues
• Monitor and adjust building automation systems to maintain proper environmental conditions
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, and infection-control standards
• Respond to urgent HVAC service calls to support patient care areas
• Document work orders, inspections, and repairs accurately
• Coordinate with facilities, clinical, and nursing teams to minimize disruption to care
