Job Description

Job Overview
The Human Trafficking Advocate stands in the gap—hand-in-hand with survivors
of sex and labor trafficking—serving not as the hero, but as the steady presence
that amplifies each survivor’s voice and choice. Through trauma-informed
advocacy and supportive case management, this role helps bring visibility to what
has too often gone unseen, ensuring survivors are heard, supported, and never
overlooked.
Advocates walk alongside survivors as they navigate complex systems, access
critical resources, and move toward safety and stability—offering consistency,
compassion, and belief in their strength every step of the way. This work is about
shining a light, magnifying resilience, and helping create the conditions where
survivors can move forward on their own terms.
Duties
• Provide trauma-informed advocacy and supportive case management to
survivors of sex and labor trafficking.
• Conduct intake, trafficking screening, and needs assessments to determine
appropriate services.
• Maintain caseload of survivors, providing ongoing support, follow-up, and
service coordination.
• Develop individualized service plans and safety plans in collaboration with
survivors.
• Assist survivors in accessing services including housing, healthcare, legal
assistance, counseling, education, and employment resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed.
• Provide advocacy during appointments, court hearings, and other system
interactions when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services in accordance
with agency policies and Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General
certification standards.
• Provide overnight shift coverage on a waiting to be engaged basis as
scheduled and be prepared to respond to field response requests to provide
in-person advocacy and support to survivors when needed. This includes
required documentation of services including mandatory end of shift
reports.
• Participate in a rotating schedule for evening ride-alongs with law
enforcement providing on-site field advocacy and crisis response as needed.
• Attend staff meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field preferred;
other experience considered. Crime Victim Services Degrees or classwork
preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in human trafficking victim advocacy, case
management, crisis response, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence,
sexual assault, or other forms of exploitation strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered advocacy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a larger caseload and complex cases.
• Strong crisis intervention, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
