Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and high-energy Host to be the first point of contact for our guests. You will welcome visitors with authentic hospitality, manage the seating chart during busy shifts, and set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The ideal candidate excels at multitasking, remains calm under pressure during busy dinner rushes, and possesses excellent communication skills.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Welcome: Greet guests warmly upon arrival, open doors, and provide accurate wait times during peak hours.
  • Seating Management: Guide guests to their tables, present menus and introduce the server.
  • Table Rotation: Manage the waitlist and floor plan using a seating chart or reservation software to ensure fair table rotation for servers.
  • Phone & Reservation Handling: Answer phone calls politely to take reservations, handle takeout or delivery inquiries, and answer questions about the menu or hours.
  • Lobby & Entrance Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house area, including menus, host stand, and entryway.
  • Team Communication: Communicate clearly with servers, bus staff, and managers regarding large parties, special accommodations, or high-volume seating changes.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to effectively welcome a diverse clientele and collaborate with kitchen and floor staff.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional, welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (4–8 hours per shift).
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a host, receptionist, or in a customer service role within a high-volume restaurant.
  • Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems (OpenTable).
  • Basic knowledge of Mexican cuisine to answer initial guest questions about the menu.
