Job Title: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager

This position is currently 100% remote. After COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager role may be a hybrid role, working remotely some days per week a week and in one of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (“GSEMA” or "Council") designated offices other days of the week. Offices are located in Andover, Waltham and Middleboro, MA. May also involve work activities on properties, designated sites/events and community locations as needed.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager (DEIM). This is a new hybrid-based role that reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager (DEIM) will develop, implement and track ongoing workforce initiatives to enrich Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, and be responsible for key human resources (HR) functions such as recruiting and other related activities. Working closely with the Sr. Director of Human Resources, the incumbent will serve as a DEI program manager and internal consultant in support of cross-functional and strategic action plans, and serve as a core member of the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee (DISC).

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and recommend best practices for implementation related to DEI in employee recruitment, development and retention.
- Partner with GSEMA's HR team and other department managers to develop and execute a recruiting strategy that helps source and attract a diverse workforce across all levels of the organization and create an inclusive candidate experience.
- Serve as a core member of the DISC, providing subject matter expertise.
- Provide logistical support for Council-sponsored DEI training and other staff development opportunities.
- Collaborate with management to develop internal communications that increase employee engagement and transparency regarding DEI initiatives and staff development opportunities.
- Develop relationships with regional civic organizations, colleges and universities, and other professional and non-profit organizations to help support initiatives and recruitment strategies.
- Conduct research on DEI trends, prepare a summary of findings, and make recommendations for policy revisions to help facilitate a diverse and inclusive environment, and ensure alignment with Council goals and objectives.
- Assist in development of metrics to measure, track and analyze the effectiveness of DEI and staff development program; prepare and deliver reports as needed.
- Provide hands-on support for key HR team functions as assigned.

- Possess a collaborative approach and outlook; demonstrated ability to establish trust and professional relationships with staff across all levels of the organization; ability to work with divergent opinions; promote collaboration and exchange of ideas.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, psychology, learning and development, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a HR environment providing generalist duties with experience supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives; knowledge of employment law, rules and regulations; employee relations experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working in an environment that requires a high level of discretion dealing with confidential and sensitive information, exercising good judgement.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software; adept at utilizing social networking; demonstrated ability to learn and become proficient with new technology.
- Experience using ADP Workforce Now is desirable.
- Bilingual skill is highly desirable.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work effectively within a small HR team environment; support designated HR functions as assigned.
- Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills including planning, logistics, and scheduling.
- Analytical capabilities; possess a metrics-focused mindset; excellent attention to detail.
- Solid verbal, written, listening and presentation skills.

Work Environment: This is a remote position with work primarily from home and a requirement of one day every other week of in-office time at a designated GSEMA office. May also involve work activities on properties, designated sites/events and community locations as needed.

Physical requirements may include:

- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 15 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or working on a computer.

Travel Requirements: Must have access to reliable transportation to travel to GSEMA offices/service centers and across the Council footprint as needed. As this position requires approximately 35% travel within the Council footprint and may require occasional travel outside the Council footprint, possession of a valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle is preferred.
