Job Description

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects to help students stay on track academically.
  • Build positive relationships with students, serving as a mentor and role model for social-emotional growth.
  • Track and report student progress in attendance, behavior, and coursework using City Year tools and protocols.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to plan and implement interventions and classroom activities.
  • Lead or support after-school programs, enrichment activities, and school-wide events.
  • Promote an inclusive, positive school climate that supports equity and student voice.
  • Participate in City Year training, coaching, and professional development sessions.
  • Communicate regularly with teammates and supervisors to align on goals and service plans.
  • Engage families and community partners as appropriate to support student success.
  • Model City Year's values, policies, and commitment to social justice and service.
