Administrative Coordinator for Career Services and Field Placement Programs
Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position
The University of Maine System School of Law is accepting applications for an Administrative Coordinator for Career Services and Field Placement Programs. The Administrative Coordinator for Career Services and Field Placement Programs has primary responsibility for managing the daily functioning of the Career Services Office and assisting the Director of Field Placement Programs with the Externship program. The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating special and regularly scheduled career services and externship-related events at the law school. The individual in this position also manages the online career services and job posting platform for students, alumni, and reciprocity students/graduates. In addition, he/she is also responsible for the On-Campus Recruitment sessions (held twice annually) and for assisting the Director of Field Placement Programs with the spring, summer, and fall semester externship sessions.
The work location is at 300 Fore Street, Portland, ME.
Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is mid to high $40's plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required:
• BA/BS from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years’ experience in a higher education setting, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong customer service orientation; excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication, proofreading, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong information technology skills including experience with Microsoft Word and other software applications, databases, and the internet.
• Ability to handle confidential information, work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with grace under pressure and to prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred:
• Experience in an academic environment with customer service and/or event planning experience.
