Position: Operations Assistant
Location: Seattle, WA
Reports to: VP Fund Investment and VP of Finance/Administration
With the mission of expanding opportunity for people living in poverty, Global Partnerships (GP) identifies, invests in, and supports innovative poverty alleviation solutions in Latin America. An estimated 140 million people live on less than $2 a day throughout the region, and more than 44% live below their country's national poverty line. Through investing socially motivated capital to support the growth of microfinance, GP helps create jobs and expand income for people living in poverty throughout this underserved region. GP supports the expansion of microfinance by investing capital and management expertise in microfinance institutions (MFIs), which in turn make financial and social services available to those they serve.
Founded in 1994, GP is a rapidly growing nonprofit organization with a team of 20 employees and offices in Seattle, Washington, and Managua, Nicaragua. GP has $48 million in socially motivated capital invested in 27 MFI partners in seven Latin America countries reaching 850,000 microcredit borrowers and impacting 3.8 million lives.
The Operations Assistant will play an important transaction, financial and administrative support role for the Social Investment Team and the VP of Finance and Administration. We seek an individual with a background in transactions including experience in financial, legal, and/or contractual transactions. Must be able to handle transactions in Spanish; full Spanish fluency is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support fund transactions including legal documentation and compliance in multiple countries throughout Latin America
Maintain accurate data systems related to GP funds including investment evaluation, loan contracts, loan repayment, investment monitoring, and contract compliance
Support fund transaction processing including payment processing and wire transfers
Support GP operating and fund accounting including AP, AR, and monthly P & L
Provide administrative support to VP of Finance and Administration related to office infrastructure management, HR administration, and backup phone coverage
Work collaboratively with Social Investment, Finance and Administration, Investor Relations, and Communications teams and outside counsel to deliver consistently high quality work

Skills:

Qualifications:
Commitment to GPs mission and values of respect, collaboration, and professional excellence
Minimum 3 years experience in transaction or financial administration
Experience managing complex legal processes and documentation
Ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile data with a high level of accuracy
Ability to structure and manage data systems on a variety of software platforms
Strong Excel skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to work effectively with business and legal documents in either language
Bachelors degree required; degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred
