Job description:  

The Regional Coordinator leads a team of recovery specialists and lead recovery specialists whose primary goals are to Improve linkages between the client, the court in which the client’s child protection case is located, DCF workers, treatment providers, and community-based support systems; Provide regularly scheduled reports to the court, all attorneys of record, the DCF social worker, and substance abuse treatment provider(s) identifying engagement in recovery case management, treatment, and community support groups, and sobriety (as measured by toxicity screens and breathalyzer results). Provide holistic services to maximize the likelihood of client success; increase the rate of client engagement in the recommended services; Support successful client treatment outcomes; ensure the client receives quality treatment services in an appropriate treatment setting; and support the client in increasing her/his recovery capital. This position will work closely with the Data Analyst/Case Manager Liaison and Administrative Assistant to oversee and monitor case management activity of all client cases. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.


Direct supervision of Recovery Specialists/Case Managers and Lead Recovery Specialists which includes, but is not limited to providing individual supervision to all case managers in region; provides weekly or biweekly group supervision to all regional case managers; provides orientation, on going training, and feedback to staff; reviews case managers caseloads and activities related to caseloads and make recommendations related to quality and effectiveness of interventions; insure that all interventions are appropriately documented in the electronic case record; work with staff to identify and manage clients with high-risk behaviors; assesses and addresses areas needing improvement; review and approve all case managers requests for client discharge or transfer; complete yearly performance evaluations
 Direct Intensive Case Management functions include, but are not limited to, responsible for providing coverage for Recovery Specialist/Case Manager and Lead Recovery Specialist; responsible for directly providing full array of recovery support services (which may include transporting clients in personal vehicles and documentation of interventions and activities related to client contact);
 Administrative duties may include, but not limited to, participating in the planning and development of the service delivery system and implement identified program changes; support the overall functioning of the RSVP/RCM/RCM-E programs; participate in hiring process of new personnel; collaborate with community providers and social service agencies to develop and maintain collaborative relationships; collaborate with Regional DCF offices, treatment providers, and court staff to develop and maintain collaborative relationship; liaison with host agency staff to develop and maintain collaborative relationship; monitor staff activity and productivity and make decisions related to utilization and impact of services; keep program manager informed of all significant client or program related issues; complete reports as requested; review all critical incidents; attend agency sponsored or recommended in-services, outside workshops, conferences and meetings;
 Attend any court proceedings and DCF meetings, including but not limited to hearings, case status conferences, treatment planning conferences, administrative case reviews and Substance Abuse Managed Service System Meetings (SAMSS) scheduled in the case to respond to any questions and to update court staff, DCF, and attorneys of record about current status and future planning for treatment and services, and receive update from DCF and the attorneys about the court case(s) including DCF plans for the child(ren) and permanency planning to include concurrent planning to address what to do in the event of non compliance with treatment and “relapse” and promote “relapse prevention”;
 Monitor staff case loads and documentation, the timely entering of documentation in the ABH database as well as entering screening information and other applicable data in ABH database. Review and approve reports distributed to DCF, court staff, AAG’s and attorneys.
 Carry a cell phone during working hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and respond to all urgent calls within 30 minutes and all routine calls as soon as possible;
 Provide transportation to clients, using personal vehicles;
 Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPPA related policies and procedures;
 Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
 Attends annual Conflict of Interest training;
 Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations.

Responsible for the supervision/management of staff assigned. This includes; but is not limited to establishing and maintaining a working environment conducive to positive morale and teamwork; recruit and hire qualified employees; provide orientation and on-the-job training for staff. Establish short and long term goals that are both measurable and obtainable to meet contract requirements and ensure that these expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all direct and indirect reports. Review and approve all applicable timesheets. Oversee the daily responsibilities of direct reports to ensure that ABH® policies and procedures are being followed and the program/department goals are being met. Provide year-round feedback to employees, counseling, coaching, and training resources and support as necessary. Refer performance concerns/issues to next level Managers & Human Resources Department for advice, next steps and appropriate action. Complete timely staff performance evaluations outlining clearly defining goals/expectations, secure applicable signatures/approvals and process paperwork.


 Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; LADC or 5 years of experience in substhttp://hispanic-jobs.com/employer.php?action=job_form&auth_sess=iccj804251brom8gjiilnfngh0&ref=5f14d9f21ae6e41b903673b02ance abuse treatment and/or community case management required;
 Mastery of the principles and practices involved in delivering case management services to a behavioral health population with primary disorders related to substance abuse;
 Must have experience as a Lead Recovery Specialist;
 Attends annual Conflict of Interest training.


 Demonstrated ability to supervise staff for effective and efficient service delivery;
 Demonstrated leadership, organization and planning skills;
 Must have valid Connecticut driver’s license, reliable transportation and carry insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000;
 Must be willing to provide community-based services with significant travel;
 Must be willing to respond to company cell phone during regular work hours and potentially provide after-hours cell phone coverage;
 Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
 Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet;
 Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
