POSITION SUMMARY:

The Programming Analyst/Reporting is responsible for the design of quality improvement studies, analyzing data, and preparing written reports for the BHRP-Clinical contract, as well as other contracts, as needed. Reports for these studies include small- and large-scale research, audit and encounter data reports. The reporting / programming analyst is also responsible for supporting various contracts and special projects by assisting in the new developments and enhancements to computer programs following project requirements. The reporting / programming analyst is responsible for analysis, coding, testing, debugging and documenting various database applications. This individual is also responsible for conducting a variety of data validation activities for outcomes and deliverables and technical support of clients including installation and remote support of applications. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provides input into and performs the development of reports, in conjunction with customers;
 Provides quality control of any reports generated;
 Acts as a resource for report-related questions;
 Encodes project requirements by converting scope information into computer language;
 Programs the computer by entering coded information;
 Confirms program operation by conducting tests, modifying program sequence and/or codes;
 Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions;
 Maintains historical records by documenting program development and revisions;
 Understands and applies procedures, practices and department standards to consistently produce error-free results in a timely manner;
 Identifies and implements process improvements;
 Prioritizes work and project tasks to meet goals or deadlines within time and budget constraints;
 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing departmental outcomes as needed;
 Maintains flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and needs;
 Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPPA related policies and procedures;
 Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
 Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations.

Skills:  
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education;
 2 – 4 years’ experience with Visual Basic.NET;
 Experience in MS SQL 2008 and 2012, T-SQL, VB 6.0, ACCESS and TFS required;
 Experience with a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, MS Excel (visual basic, macros, advanced functions and pivot tables), SPSS and Crystal Reports a plus
 Demonstrated working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle;
 Attends annual Conflict of Interest training.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 Ability to handles multiple tasks and provide quality solutions on time and within project budget;
 Ability to communicate technical and business information with others, of varying technical backgrounds, clearly and concisely;
 Strong analytical skills, with the ability to contribute to the design of analyses using statistical, spreadsheet, graphic, database programs and to analyze volume and performance trends;
 Demonstrated problem solving expertise;
 Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills with a focus on teamwork;
 Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
 Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook); internet;
 Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
