General Summary - :








Coordinates the accurate and consistent documentation of university academic programs in concert with faculty and administration directives and ensures the timely and accurate preparation and production of University online academic catalog materials. Develops and maintains databases and external network connections to assure full and complete historical record of all curricular and programmatic updates, changes, and deletions. Assists and conducts special studies and projects related to the university curriculum as directed by the Director, Undergraduate Studies.




Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Direct the preparation of University catalog materials including, but not limited to, course and program database management, design and layout of online materials, verification of academic content, program revision materials, and implementation of authorized changes.

Serve as liaison between the Director, Undergraduate Studies and academic departments, and University offices regarding the development and maintenance of catalog information as well as assigned special projects.

Plan and coordinate university projects as well as facilitate the resolution of department or program concerns related to course and program development and catalog operations.

Assist in the implementation and monitoring of new course and program development processes, and their effective dissemination.

Apply current online social media strategies and techniques in the design, maintenance, presentation, and utilization of university catalog curriculum and program materials.

Develop and implement University catalog database management procedures and catalog updating and verification procedures in coordination with course and program development operations.

Conduct periodic training of administrative staff and faculty related to course and program development and catalog operations.

Provide and maintain data used in university initiatives, including, but not limited to, degree audit and student database enterprise software applications. Works with the Registrar to ensure that policy information, accessed from the online catalog, is current and accurate.

Maintain currency in academic catalog technologies for ensuring university systems are fully leveraging state of the art technology in support of optimizing students' academic experience.

Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:


Demonstrated knowledge and skills in document publication, program planning, and web development typically acquired through the completion of a Master's degree in educational leadership or a related field, or through the combination of a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of direct field experience is required.

Extensive understanding of relational database design, maintenance, and access operations in web accessible user environment in support of higher education programmatic roles and learning objectives.

Working knowledge of University policies and procedures, Banner, acalog, and similar academic relational databases, as well as the university's Course and Program Development system is strongly preferred; similar campus enterprise software experience is acceptable as long as it is sufficient to assure the rapid assumption of critical catalog operations duties.

Excellent written and oral communication skill required.

Teaching experience and involvement in curriculum development is preferred.
