•The health industry is ripe for a simplicity and a new view. At Apple we want to make great products that empower people to improve their health. We’re looking for talented backend developers to join a small team of highly skilled engineers to realize the mission of the Health team by expanding the capabilities of iOS and other Apple platforms.
As a member of the team you’ll have the opportunity to work with experts in their field to expand the functionality of the Health app and HealthKit framework and support the broader health related efforts at Apple. This position requires a self-motivated engineer with strong technical and communication skills to handle responsibilities including:
•Designing and implementing new HealthKit APIs for developers
•Supporting the Health App team to implement new features
•Communicating ideas to other cross functional teams
•Participating in architecture and code reviews
•Building internal tools as needed to help ship high quality software
Experience working on developer-facing frameworks or libraries
Ability to diagnose and resolve multithreading and memory issues
Experience optimizing applications and profiling throughout the stack
Knowledge of iOS programming and Apple technologies such as Grand Central Dispatch, CloudKit, Core Motion
Familiarity with databases (e.g. SQLite)
Strong Objective-C programming skills
Solid understanding of fundamental Computer Science concepts
BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
•Familiarity with Wellness or Medical concepts is a plus
•Experience with C++ is a plus
