POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transportation Scheduler is responsible for using scheduling software to produce daily schedules for School of Origin Transportation Program which is a statewide DCF program. The Transportation Scheduler will monitor routes, transportation provider availability, service levels and other critical statistics to ensure trips are performed in a timely manner, maximizing on time performance. Maintaining internal recordkeeping systems, data changes, cancellations, etc. This position will represent ABH® and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH®’s best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH® as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Organize and route all trips according to most efficient route;
 Assist transportation providers with problems or issues relating to scheduling;
 Answer phones and respond to requests and questions;
 Monitors daily performance via dispatching software;
 Assign new rides to transportation providers;
 Record time of departure, destination and expected time of return;
 Establish and maintain effective communication with all transportation providers;
 Review schedules and trip reconciliation daily and distribute trips to providers;
 Ensure trips are assigned promptly and accurately;
 Identify and recommend improvements in processes and procedures to management;
 Notes all provider no shows or On-time-performance issues;
 Reviews routes for optimal performance;
 Communicate with Management as needed to maximize efficiencies and resolve issues;
 Manage calls in a professional, systematic and organized manner following departmental guidelines;
 Prepare reports on all activities occurring during their shifts;
 Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
 Work schedule is 6:00 am – 2:30 pm;


 Flexibility to work other hours as needed;
 Attends annual Conflict of Interest training;
 Perform other tasks/responsibilities as required to support the business operations.

Skills:  
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;
 2+ years of experience in customer service data entry and tracking software systems a must;

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 Skills in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications;
 Must be able to demonstrate effective use of scheduling software;
 Strong data analysis skills;
 Knowledge of dispatching software; experience with Routing Box preferred;
 Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities while meeting mission critical deadlines;
 Ability to work effectively in a group setting;
 Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
 Must quickly adapt to changing the environment;
 Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings;
 Must possess the ability to maintain composure when multitasking;
