The Development Assistant contributes to accomplishing the Foundation’s mission by providing highest quality administrative support to officers, and exceptional customer service to donors, potential donors, volunteers and nonprofit agencies, especially by producing accurate, timely communications, correspondence, reports and data base updates.

Responsibilities include:

Providing administrative support to director and a senior officer, including maintaining calendars, scheduling and supporting donor meetings and assisting with donor correspondence ;

• Providing administrative support to director and a senior officer, including maintaining calendars, scheduling and supporting donor meetings and assisting with donor correspondence ;
• Processing grant award letters, maintaining accurate, complete files and forwarding correspondence to donor advisors;
• Monitoring grant reporting to share with Fund Advisors;
• Producing reports on grant histories and assisting with related database projects;
• Serving as backup for donor advisor logins, as needed;
• Assisting with research on potential grantees and grant interests;
• Maintaining accurate, up to date small grants database and online updates;
• Creating grant proposals from available information in the Foundation’s database;
• Reviewing obituaries daily for information related to donors and key foundation constituents;
• Processing department invoice and expense report processing ;

Requirements:

• A commitment to the Foundation’s mission and values, as well as to learning and growing at work;
• Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, listening and communications skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a high performing team;
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy;
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data/information management;
• Proficiency with database software, including data entry, creation of standard reports and ensuring data integrity;
• Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record and 5 years relevant experience, or combination of education and experience; and
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
