Role Purpose:
• This purpose of this position is to partner with business HR and provide support, consultation, governance, evaluate and make recommendations on the competitiveness and strategic alignment of compensation and benefits programs. This position is focused (but not limit) on Latin America.
• Ensures COE programs / processes / policies support the attraction and retention of the number and type of talent required to execute corporate strategy
• Ensures COE programs / processes / policies establish and reinforce Corning Values and positive work environment, while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensures COE key stakeholders fully understand the value, benefit, and use of COE programs / processes / policies. Ensures standards and guidelines are understood and consistently applied
• Ensures COE programs / processes / policies meet or beat quality and delivery expectations
• Ensures financial decisions and recommendations support top quartile cost performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery
Role Responsibilities:
• Analysis and administer the market pricing activities by establishing and executing standards. These activities include the matching of internal positions to external data using standardized surveys for purposes of making recommendations to line management regarding base salary levels, appropriate band assignment, and total compensation opportunity.
• Recommend yearly wage structures (budgets and market ranges) for approval.
• Conduct routine reviews of the external markets to ensure that Corning is participating in the most competitive and appropriate surveys and makes recommendations on new surveys, tools and resources.
• Provides analytical expertise.
• Provides “in-house consultant” services to Corning Business Units around competitive compensation practices to ensure the maintenance of their organization’s compensation related objectives are properly aligned.
• Obtain a functional knowledge related to compensation in areas of compliance, legal and audit.
• Ensures that the administration of various compensation programs are in compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures.
• Implement/deliver new programs to our business units.
• Partners with the COE Communications Manager and develops training/ communication materials.
Skills:  
Required Education/Experience:
• Successful track record of performance in an entry level HR role (generalist or specialist)
• Work experience in manufacturing or other front-line setting (HR or non-HR)
• Successful track record in the collection, analysis and use of data to improve a process/product
• At least 2-4 years of combined HR experience (generalist/specialist combined)
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development ; Master’s degree in related area and/or COE area specific certifications– a plus
• Ideal candidates will have excellent analytical and leadership skills, as well as a solid foundation in business management fundamentals. Applicants should be highly mobile, willing to pursue various domestic or international assignments.
• Communication in Spanish – a plus
