Job description:
JOB OVERVIEW
Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to conduct research participant recruitment and data collection in English and Spanish for the Burden Study at one abortion facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Burden Study aims to document the multiple barriers women face accessing abortion care and whether these experiences are stressful, difficult, or anxiety provoking. We will recruit approximately 500 women accessing abortion care from participating abortion facilities across the country (Illinois, California, and New Mexico), of which approximately 150 patients will be recruited from an abortion facility in New Mexico. Participants will be asked to complete a one-time anonymous survey administered electronically (using an iPad) and / or on paper while they are waiting for their appointment.

The CRC will be responsible for carrying out recruitment, eligibility screening, and informed consent processes, as well as administering surveys, entering data, maintaining research records, protecting confidential information, handling and securing study surveys and gift cards, and responding to training and quality improvement measures.

The research team (research investigators, project director and other team members) are based at ANSIRH’s research office, located in Oakland, California. We will consider applications from candidates who are available for approximately five months to recruit at an abortion facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Surveys include questions about sensitive topics such as circumstances around pregnancy and abortion, feelings about being pregnant and having an abortion, and mental health. Comfort discussing these issues and interacting in a positive and sensitive manner with individuals receiving abortion services, as well as proficiency in Spanish are essential. We will cover air travel, lodging, and additional expenses for applicants living outside of Albuquerque. Preference will be given to local residents.

The CRC will perform independently or with general direction to execute, manage, and coordinate research protocols, as directed by the Project Director and / or Principal Investigators (PI); may coordinate the data collection and operations of the study under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF and regulating agency policies.
